Cold Comfort
The best way to dress for winter? Warm layers, cosy leggings and technical outerwear that give an added performance boost whether you're walking, running, or training. Winter's coming (but don't let that stop you).
How to layer for cold-weather runs
Regulating your body temperature, staying dry and protecting yourself from inclement weather is essential when getting your miles in over winter. Here's our guide to layering for cold weather runs.
Base layer: Worn next to the skin, this light layer wicks moisture away from your body and keeps you dry - short or long-sleeved tops are a foundation staple.
Mid layer: This layer provides essential insulation by creating a smart air pocket and trapping body heat. Knitwear, sweatshirts, or fleece layers - beat the chill by layering different lightweight mid-layers over one another.
Outer layer: Water and wind-proof running jackets will keep you dry and comfortable against the elements, and deliver on warmth and comfort.
And don't forget the accessories - knitted snoods, scarves and gloves bring added cosy when temperatures take a dip.
