Brogue Trader
No gentleman's wardrobe is complete without a pair of handcrafted Goodyear welted brogues. With punched holes (originally designed to allow water to drain from the shoe), Loake offer a wide selection of Leather or Rubber-soled options in Oxford or Derby constructions, in a vast array of colours and styles.
Chester £285
The classic 'Chester' country brogue shoe is available with a Dainite rubber studded sole for greater longevity and grip, Chester is made in England.
024 is one of two country last shapes Loake use currently. It is used for less formal shoes such as the 'Chester' brogue and the 'Burford' boot. Like most country style last shapes, 024 is a little roomier by design to allow for thicker socks to be worn. The toe shape is rounded on this last. Colt is a variant of 024, with a taller and bolder toe. This is a cosmetic change only; the fitting properties of the two remain identical.
Torrington £360
Handmade in Northamptonshire on Loake's Tower last, Torrington is a traditional wing-capped Oxford brogue shoe. Delivering a well-proportioned fit, this Oxford brogue features a distinctive, almond-shaped toe and a highly-sculpted fiddle-back waist for a more refined and elegant shape with increased arch-support.
Heels are built using veg-tanned leather and premium leather linings provide maximum absorption and optimum foot comfort. The finished shoes are hand-burnished and finger-polished for a deep, rich shine while fully-stitched Goodyear welted leather soles are intricately hand-decorated and reveal a painted two-tone stain.
Torrington is available in Onyx Black, Antique Blue and Antique Brown calf leathers.
Badminton £285
A premium heavy country Derby brogue, Badminton is available in Brown, and Dark Brown grain leathers, and features a Dainite rubber sole for greater longevity and grip. Badminton is made in England in an O26 last.
The 026 last is available in both medium and wide fitting. This last is very much a classic English last shape, with a rounded toe of standard length. Customers who need a little extra width from their shoes should select this last in a G fitting.
Kerridge £199
Kerridge is a premium Calf & Suede Leather Brogue, featuring Goodyear welted rubber soles for greater longevity and grip. Kerridge uses the 'Claridge' last shape, and is available in a 'f' fitting. These men's shoes are designed and engineered in Kettering and made in Loake's high-grade factory in India.
Another versatile last shape, Claridge is used for both classic English styles and more contemporary shoes. Claridge is a medium width last which should run true to size. There is a little extra (cosmetic only) length in the toe of this last, which has a slightly rounded point.
