Inked-In – The New 1460 Collection
Tattoo Collection
1460 Tattoo OT £140, 1460 Tattoo Chris Lambert, 1460
Tattoo Grez £140
DM's newest collection is a series of three 1460 boots championing
the tattoo culture - that ancient art form connecting scores of Dr.
Martens fans around the world. The collection features the work of
OT, a Tokyo-based tattoo artist known for his modern approach to
traditional Japanese ink, the UK's Chris Lambert, a tattoo artist
and owner of Snake & Tiger Tattoo in Leeds and Grez, a
traditional tattoo artist at Kings Avenue Tattoo in New York
City.
Also new in this season are a range of new finishes for women's boots
1460 Pascal Virginia £125
This Pascal was constructed on the iconic Dr. Martens AirWair
bouncing sole, that's oil-and-fat resistant with good abrasion and
slip resistance-and has been since 1960. The women's 8-eye boot is
Goodyear welted, meaning the upper and sole are sewn together in
our heat-sealed z-welt stitch for enhanced comfort. The Pascal is
made with Virginia, a soft, fine grained Nappa leather.
1460 Vonda £140
The 1460 was the first Dr. Martens boot - and this one is true to
the original, but borrows style from the 14-eye 1914 Vonda, with
embroidered roses cascading down the side of the boot.
This 8-eye boot retains classic Docs DNA, such as grooved edges on its air-cushioned sole, yellow welt stitching and a scripted heel-loop. Built on top of the iconic AirWair™ Bouncing Soles and Goodyear-welted, it's made with Softy T, a lightweight, full-grain leather treated to have a naturally soft and supple feel.
1460 Pascal Glitter £115
This season, DM gave the 1460 a party-ready makeover, covering it
in a frosty, iridescent glitter in pewter, pale gold, purple or
turquoise. Comes with two pairs of laces: satin ribbon or
regular.
