Dan Lane – In the Empty Spaces
Dan Lane brings two stunning new limited editions from his In The Empty Spaces series to Castle Fine Art, with his usual insightful social commentary on life and current affairs, mixed with his love of graffiti.
Use With Caution features Dan's signature metallic skull on a Dollar bill, as a reflection on the negative and positive impact money and power can have on society. It is the first limited edition work from the In the Empty Spaces series, following the demand for the extraordinary original pieces.
Simultaneously bursting with colour and dark motifs, this limited-edition artwork on glass captures the effect of the unique mediums in his original wall sculptures. Viewers can see the layers intertwine under and over each creating a unique and atmospheric artwork for your home full of depth and intrigue.

The second piece, Vanitas, again features Dan's signature skull, this time featuring the subdued metallic hues which are his favoured palette, again combining the motifs of money and power with the random nature of graffiti.
Elegantly portrayed on glass, this bold and luxurious limited edition captures the effect of the unique mediums of his original artwork that include layers of faux snakeskin, Swarovski crystals, silver leaf and more.

In his dark, intricate sculptures, artist Dan Lane twists natural forms through mechanical intervention, presenting an industrial version of life.
Highly influenced by nature, many of his pieces feature flowers, insects and birds. His original art, like the above, is hand-painted, sprayed and polished in his studio. From making his own acrylics sheets to creating moulds and sculpting in clay, each piece is born of experimentation.
Dan says:"I love the idea of having something beautiful like a butterfly or hummingbird try to find its place and break out of the mechanical worlds I create."
