Dr Martens - To Tie Dye For

For SS17, Dr. Martens references the 1990s-global phenomenon of grunge as its core inspiration. This historically important counter-culture music scene exploded from the north-west Pacific coast of the USA, and in a short space of

time dominated the world's music industry, charts and live circuit. Dr. Martens found themselves at the heart of this massive explosion of alternative thinking, music and style - the 1460 8-eye boot was soon championed by millions of grunge fans worldwide.

Grunge was a genre that incorporated lashings of heavy rock and punk attitude that were sometimes mixed with elements of hippy fashion. One such characteristic was the use of tie dye in grunge fashion, which was essentially driven by the fact it was an affordable and individual option.

This idea has inspired the exclusive all-over tie dye prints used across both footwear and accessories for the SS17 range. The V Page 8-Eye Boot, V Lester 3-Eye Shoe and V Polley T-Bar Shoe are all completely vegan products and the summery pop of colour contrasts boldly with the crisp white outsole and white welt stitch. The chunky, contrast buckle on the T-Bar Shoe, along with the vegan heel loops and metal eyelets add fresh detailing.

The V Clarissa II 3-Strap Sandal option for SS17 has evolved both comfort and style for the vegan customer. The addition of a cut-away buckle on the adjustable strap is branded for quiet detail.

The same tie dye print has been wrapped around the Dr. Martens classic fabric backpack style - again, completely vegan - and is also available on a cotton t-shirt, perfect for any festival wardrobe.

Available from May onwards in the Dr. Martens Exchange store.
